Represented real estate investment firm in connection with the purchase of an office building in downtown KC (via a purchase of the loan).  Following the purchase of the loan, Couzens assisted the company with the foreclosure of the loan and the acquisition of fee title.  Thereafter, Couzens assisted the company in obtaining mortgage financing on the property.  Couzens also negotiated property level agreements including property management agreements, listing agreements, other service contracts.

Represented real estate owner in connection with the sale of a retail shopping center in Los Angeles.

Negotiated a settlement among Owner, the City of Kansas City and the owner of a neighboring property with respect to certain parking litigation relating to the garage beneath the client’s building

Represented real estate investor in connection with the acquisition of a 500,000 square foot office building located within Cleveland’s CBD.  In connection therewith, drafted and negotiated all of the documents in connection with the purchase and sale together with all joint venture documents with the client’s JV partner.

Represented  a real estate firm in connection with the acquisition and the mortgage financing of a 142 unit (500 beds) student housing facility with 335 parking spaces, including 30 garage spaces (via the purchase of loan secured thereby).
